Actually I’m a captain on King Air 200. My job is very niche: We fly as a relay for television images. This is how it works: Major sporting competitions like cycling , marathons WRC rallye have a lot of cameras on the ground or in the vehicles. The images are transmitted straight up to our aircraft flying “in circles” on FL240 above the action. From our aircraft these signals are then transmitted to the production truck on the ground. Nice incentive is that we always know who won one second before the spectators. It’s a very specific job because we don’t transport passengers or cargo , but we are a link in the chain necessary to broadcast the larger events live. I’m also experienced as Ferry Pilot and Survey Pilot on different types of aircraft.
